MONEY IS ACTING SILLY!

Stuff is Happening With Money! - By Jerome Skinly

Hi! I'm Jerome and I write for Jape News! My mom says lots of grown-up stuff is happening with money right now, so I'm gonna try and tell you about it. It's kinda tricky.

So, people are spending less money. Especially people who don’t have too much money already. That means stores might not sell as many toys or yummy snacks. And some people get help buying food with something called SNAP, and they won’t get as much help soon. That's sad. My mom says it means grocery stores might sell less cereal!

Also, a man named Trump, he wants to keep putting extra money on things from other countries. It's like, if you buy a LEGO set from somewhere else, it costs more money. A judge said he couldn’t do that, but he's asking some important people to let him do it anyway!

And guess what? Apple, the people who make iPhones, might make the iPhones cost MORE money too! Because of the extra money on stuff from other countries. My mom says I can't get a new iPhone anyway because I’m only seven, but still!

A big computer company called Salesforce is letting go of a LOT of people. Like, four thousand! My mom says that's because they have computers that can do some of the jobs now, and those are called "AI." It sounds kinda scary. Like the robots are taking over!

Even Amazon is being grumpy! They used to let people share their fast delivery thing, called Prime. But now they aren't letting people do that anymore. So only the people who pay for it get the fast delivery.

Disney, the place with Mickey Mouse, got in trouble for looking at what people watched on their videos. They fixed it though! My mom says everyone needs to be careful what they look at on the computer.

And the stock market is being wobbly! My dad looks at that. He said it's going up and down because of all this money stuff. He looks worried sometimes.

So yeah, lots of grown-up money stuff is happening. I'm gonna go play with my LEGOs now. That makes more sense.
