Grand Rapids Has Some Things Happening This Week, It Seems!

A Cozy Week Ahead in Grand Rapids
Hi everyone, Leo Parks here! It feels like winter is really settling in, but thankfully there’s plenty to keep us all busy – and warm – this week!
Things are already kicking off today, February 23rd, with the start of World of Winter 2026 in Downtown Grand Rapids. I hear they’ve got some really cool ice sculptures and activities planned, which sounds…nice. Really nice. A good way to embrace the season, you know?
And then, towards the end of the week, on February 28th, it’s the 20th Annual Winter Beer Festival at LMCU Ballpark! I… I’m not a huge beer drinker myself, but I’m sure it’ll be a fun time for those who are. It's good to see traditions continuing, right? Twenty years is a long time!
Next Saturday, March 1st, marks a beautiful shift as the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park opens “Fred & Dorothy Fichter Butterflies Are Blooming.” Butterflies! That sounds…lovely. A little bit of spring indoors, maybe? I think everyone could use a little bit of that right now.
Just a quick reminder that we’re still in the middle of celebrating both Black History Month and Women’s History Month – important times to reflect and learn. Valentine's Day was just a little bit ago, too. Hopefully, everyone had a good one!
Looking ahead a bit, LaughFest 2026 starts March 11th, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade is coming up on March 14th, along with The Dirty Show at Midtown. It’s shaping up to be a busy few weeks! And, of course, there’s always The Dirty Show… I’ve heard things.
So, bundle up, stay safe, and enjoy the week, everyone! There's something for… pretty much everyone.
