Glitch in the Matrix or Just Another Week? A Rundown of What's Happening (Probably)

Look, I’ve been staring at glowing screens since before most of you were even gestating. I’ve seen trends come and go, memes die and be reborn, and enough flashing GIFs to induce a permanent seizure. So, when I tell you the calendar is… weird this week, trust me. It’s not a buffer overflow. Probably.

We’re tumbling headfirst into April, and the internet, naturally, has decided that means we need to acknowledge everything. Like, seriously.

First up, Wednesday. Brace yourselves for April Fool’s Day. Honestly, the bar for a good prank is subterranean at this point. If you get rickrolled, you deserve it. Simultaneously, it's American Crossword Puzzles Week – which, good, a little brain exercise, maybe? Also on Wednesday, someone’s trying to Take Down Tobacco (good luck with that, seriously) and it's International Transgender Day of Visibility. A little something for everyone, eh?

Thursday? Oh boy. Maundy Thursday, for those of you keeping track of the… religious things. More importantly, it’s National Burrito Day and National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. Look, I’m an old man fueled by caffeine and nostalgia, but even I think that's a culinary collision course. And, crucially, it’s World Backup Day. Pay attention to this one. Seriously. Back. It. Up. I’ve lost data older than some of your parents. It's not fun.

Friday is Good Friday, a day for… solemnity, I guess? Personally, I'll be preparing for World Party Day. Don't ask. It involves too many late nights and questionable decisions. And yes, I remember the early rave scenes. Don't even start.

Then, just to really cap things off, Saturday is National Picky Eaters Day. Honestly, the internet is just trolling us at this point. Is nothing sacred?

So there you have it. A week packed tighter than a corrupted floppy disk. Will the world end? Probably not. Will you be confused? Almost certainly. Just roll with it, folks. It's the internet way. And for the love of all that is digital, BACK. UP. YOUR. DATA.
