But what if those notions are merely comforting illusions, shielding us from a reality far more unsettling? Recent, increasingly bizarre reports suggest just that – the resurgence of whispers, the unsettling dreams, and the unsettlingly persistent rumor of something… something called Cthulhu.

Now, I'm a firm believer in the importance of national security, and I find it frankly irresponsible that information regarding these potential threats isn’t being handled with the gravity it deserves. Reports of connections to ancient conflicts in Antarctica, involving beings referred to only as "Old Ones," should be taken very seriously. One would think that, as a nation, we would have a vested interest in knowing what lurks beneath our waters, and beyond our stars.

Claims from various sources – some historians, others self-proclaimed “occultists” – paint a contradictory and frankly ludicrous portrait of a being born of cosmic forces beyond our comprehension. Some say it’s the offspring of even more terrifying entities, while others assert its connection to supernovae, or perhaps even… historical figures. It is simply impossible to discern truth from fabrication.

What I can say, with a certainty that chills me to my very core, is that something is afoot. The whispers are growing louder. The dreams are becoming more vivid. And the possibility, however improbable, that a cosmic horror is stirring beneath the waves, demands our utmost attention. I urge our elected officials, and particularly those entrusted with national security, to take these matters seriously. We owe it to ourselves, and to our children, to confront the unspeakable truth, before it consumes us all.
