NO ROBOT BABIES!

Don't Name Your Baby That!
Hi! I'm Jerome Skinly and I write for Jape News! My teacher says it's important to learn about stuff, and then tell other people about it. So, I learned about baby names! But not just any baby names. Names you REALLY shouldn't use.
My mom says picking a name is super important. It's like, your name is with you FOREVER! So you don't want it to be… silly. Or mean. Or just… weird.
See, some countries don't LET you use certain names! In Iceland, they have a list of names that are okay, and if your name isn't on it, you can't use it! That’s like, if you wanted a blue crayon, but they only sold red. It has to fit the rules! They don't like names with the letter "C" because it's not in their language. It's like trying to speak a secret code!
In New Zealand, you can't name your baby “Prince” or “King.” That’s because those are for real princes and kings! And you can’t use numbers! Like, “III.” My mom said that’s just confusing.
But the weirdest ones are from other places. In Mexico, they said no to “Facebook” and “Robocop.” Can you IMAGINE being called Robocop?! People would laugh! And in Malaysia, they said NO WAY to “Apple” and “Violet.” My mom likes flowers, but naming a baby a flower? That’s just… different.
There was this guy in Sweden who tried to name his baby a REALLY long string of letters. Like, a whole bunch of x’s and c’s and p’s! The government said no way. They said nobody could even say it!
And in Japan, they used to use a name for babies who… didn’t make it. Like, when they were very, very small. So using that name now would be super sad.
My mom says it's important to be nice when you pick a name. Don't pick a name that makes people laugh at your baby, but WITH your baby! And definitely don’t pick a name that’s mean!
So, if you’re thinking of naming your baby something… unusual, maybe check with the rules where you live. And maybe ask your mom! She’s pretty good at picking names.
