GAMES ARE NEW AND OLD AND ROBOTS TOO!

Hi! I’m Jerome and I like video games a LOT. My big brother, Leo, told me a bunch of stuff is changing about them, so I’m gonna tell you!

So, Leo says lots of games now are… old games! But not really old, like super old. They take games you already know and make them new again. Like, if you loved a game a long time ago, they might make it all shiny and new. Leo says it's 'cause it's safe money. That means they know people will buy it!

But also, lots of new games are made by just… regular people! Like, not big companies. They use something called Roblox and people can play their games and give them money! It's like building with LEGOs and then people give you allowance for it.

Leo also said some of the biggest, coolest games aren’t very good right now. Like, they try to be super amazing but then everyone is like, “Eh.” That’s kinda sad.

And you don’t even need a super strong computer anymore! You can play games on the cloud! It's like watching TV, but you get to play it. You don’t need a fancy game machine.

There’s PlayStation and Xbox, and PlayStation is winning! Leo said. He has Xbox, so he was a little mad.

Sometimes, when they make a game, you can play it before it's finished! It's called “Early Access.” They let you play and tell them what to change. It's like helping make the game!

And get this – they're using ROBOT voices now! Like, a computer makes the sounds for the characters. Leo says that’s kinda weird and the people who usually do the voices might not get paid. That doesn't seem fair.

Leo said everyone will spend a LOT of money on games this year – like sixty-two BILLION dollars! That’s a really, really big number. Way bigger than all my LEGOs put together.

So yeah, games are changing. It's kinda cool and kinda weird, but mostly just really fun!
