Toy Story: What the Kids Are Clicking On in '25

It’s hard to believe another year is already flying by, but here at Jape News, we’ve been keeping a close eye on what’s capturing the imaginations of the youngest members of our community. And let me tell you, the toy shelves are packed with exciting things!

From what I’ve gathered, it seems like kids these days want a little bit of everything. There’s a real mix of classic play patterns and, well, things I didn't even know existed when I was little.

Robots are still a big hit, apparently. The VTech Switch and Go 3-in-1 Rescue Rex sounds pretty neat – a dinosaur that turns into a car? Ingenious! And if your little one is more into stargazing, the LeapFrog Magic Adventures Telescope is getting a lot of buzz. It’s nice to see toys that encourage curiosity, you know?

Hatchimals are still going strong, too. The Mystery Hatch Draggle… honestly, the name alone is enough to get a kid excited. And for the fans of a certain streaming service, the Netflix KPop Demon Hunters HUNTR/X Cosplay Light Stick Toy is definitely a thing. It’s… bright. Very bright.

But it isn’t all high-tech. Disney’s Stitch Ultimate Interactive seems to be a really popular choice, and classics like Playmobil – the Modern Hospital set, specifically – are always good options. It's good to see some things staying the same!

There's also a lot of building going on. Lego, naturally, with a massive Fantastic Four vs. Galactus set leading the charge, and the new BLDR Squishmallows Building Sets are proving popular. Plus, smaller sets like the GraviTrax Star Wars Action Set Death Star, for those who like a bit more of a challenge.

And it's not just about building things. There's a focus on imaginative play too. The Little Tikes Peppa Pig Playhouse is reportedly a big hit, as are the Melissa & Doug sets – a Beauty Kiosk, a Pet Vet, and even a Ms. Rachel Sing and Play Doll.

Even simpler toys are doing well. The Play-Doh Barbie Ruffles and Bows Set sounds… messy, but fun! And there's even a trend toward sensory play with textured and scented Play-Doh varieties.

For the more active kids, it looks like physical games are making a comeback. Connect 4 Frenzy and Doteki – a multiplayer battle pack – are getting a lot of attention. Apparently, kids like a little friendly competition.

And, of course, no toy roundup would be complete without mentioning the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle and the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally. Video games are still incredibly popular, it seems!

Honestly, it’s a really diverse range of toys this year. Something for everyone, I guess. It’s nice to see. I just hope I don't step on any of these things. They look kinda small.
