Unseasonable Storms Signal Decay of American Values

A Chill in the Air and a Sign of the Times?
Folks, let's talk about the weather. Not just the "what's it doing right now" kind of weather, but what it means. Now, I’ve been watching the skies for seventy years, and I’m telling you, these patterns aren't what they used to be.
Reports are coming in of showers and thunderstorms plaguing the eastern seaboard. They say it’ll last through the weekend. Honestly, it's a good thing people are prepared. A strong nation is a prepared nation. We need to be ready for anything Mother Nature throws our way.
And it’s not just the rain. The forecast calls for cooler temperatures settling in across much of the country east of the Rockies. Forty degrees in Grand Rapids, Michigan this morning, they're saying! Forty! In early April! Back in my day, April meant shedding the winter coat, not bundling up.
Now, I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon with these so-called “climate change” alarmists, but you can’t help but notice things are…different. Florida’s got increased rip currents – dangerous conditions for families enjoying a vacation, let me tell you. And Hawaii? More rain. More rain! Seems like everywhere you look, it’s just…wet.
It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? About respect. Respect for the natural world, yes, but also respect for tradition, for the way things should be. We've lost a lot of that in this country, and maybe, just maybe, this weather is a sign. A sign we need to get back to basics, to common sense, and to a good, strong work ethic.
They’re predicting some sunshine in Grand Rapids later today, thankfully. A little bit of hope, a little bit of warmth. We all need that these days. But let's not be fooled. The storms are coming, both literally and figuratively, and we need to be ready to weather them. Stay informed, stay vigilant, and stay strong, America.
