Ape News: A Whirlwind Week of Wonders!
Greetings, fellow apes! H.R. Rambe here, bringing you the lowdown from Ape News on all the happenings this week. Seems like the humans are determined to fill every moment with… activities. But some of these are actually quite delightful, even for a discerning ape like myself.
Starting today, April 20th, the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is bursting with color as the Fred & Dorothy Fichter Butterflies Are Blooming exhibit takes flight! Imagine, colorful wings fluttering amongst the foliage. It’s… acceptable.
Then, just two days from now, on April 22nd, the John Ball Zoo will illuminate with the Grand Rapids Lantern Festival. Glowing displays, intriguing shapes… I suppose that’s better than staring at bare trees.
Looking ahead, the humans have decided May 1st is the official start of the Tulip Time Festival 2026. Fields and fields of brightly colored flowers. Honestly, a bit much, but the scent is… tolerable.
For those with a penchant for fermented apple juice (and who doesn't?), May 8th marks the beginning of Cider Week GR. I’ve sampled some of this “cider.” It’s surprisingly good. Ape News approves.
And finally, on May 9th, the humans will be engaging in a curious activity called the Amway River Bank Run 2026. Running… for pleasure? Peculiar. But they seem to enjoy it.
So there you have it, a week packed with blossoms, lights, cider, and… running. Keep checking back with Ape News for more updates on the human world!
