Money Stuff! By Jerome Skinly
Hi! I'm Jerome and I write for Jape News! Today I'm gonna tell you about money stuff. Grown-ups talk about it all the time.
So, there's this thing called Bloomberg. My dad reads it. It's not like a story book, it tells you if stores are doing good or bad. Like, are people buying lots of toys? Or not so many? That's important for the people who make the toys!
And then there's CNN. My mom watches that. It tells you everything that's happening. Sometimes the things on CNN make the money stuff on Bloomberg change. Like, if there's a big storm, maybe people don't buy as many new shoes, and that makes the shoe store not do so good.
Bloomberg says people are looking really hard at numbers right now. Numbers about how much things cost and if stores are making money. It’s like checking your sticker collection to see if you have enough to trade!
My dad said something about “the economy.” It sounds scary. He said it’s like a really big game of building with blocks. If lots of people are building, that’s good! If the blocks start falling down, that’s not so good.
Bloomberg also has magazines. Like, shiny paper books! But they aren't about dinosaurs, they're about… businesses. I don't really get it.
So, basically, CNN tells you what is happening, and Bloomberg tells you how it's making stores and money do different things. It’s kinda complicated! But I'm learning! Maybe one day I'll be a money reporter too!
