Still Got That Floppy? Grand Rapids Keeps the Calendar Humming

Look, I’ve seen a lot of calendars. Stone tablets, punch cards, even those weird digital ones with the spinning graphics back in ‘98. And lemme tell ya, Grand Rapids? They use ‘em. Seems like there's always something cookin’ in that city, and this week's no exception.

Now, some of you young’uns might need a reminder – yes, time keeps marching on even if your K/D ratio doesn’t. We're past the big ones, the Valentine’s Day rush is over (hope you scored some good loot!), and St. Patrick’s Day has faded into blurry memories of green beer. But don’t power down your rig just yet.

Grand Rapids doesn’t just have holidays, they build around them. According to the locals at Experience Grand Rapids, they're prepping for the next wave already. They’re always prepping, these folks. Always.

But it's not just about the big dates. This week, it’s all about the in-between. I've been poking around the networks (old habits, you know?) and it looks like Eventbrite is lit up with workshops. Pottery? Resin art? Seriously? Sounds like someone’s trying to unplug and get… tactile. Back in my day, we got tactile with a soldering iron and a whole lotta static electricity. Different strokes, I guess.

There's also a bunch of those "professional development" things happening. Networking events, courses… basically, people trying to level up their real-life skills. Smart. Though I still maintain that mastering dial-up is a genuinely useful talent.

And if you’re already thinking ahead, which a good strategist always is, remember that Grand Rapids does Christmas right. They even have a Christkindl Market. A whole market. I’ve heard rumors of gingerbread and… shudders… caroling.

So, yeah. Grand Rapids keeps the calendar full. Keeps things interesting. And honestly? It’s refreshing. Reminds me of the early internet – a little bit of everything, always something new to discover. Now if you'll excuse me, I think I still have a copy of Doom to reinstall.
